In the studio, a creative artist has a large palette of electronic, virtual and acoustic intruments to choose from in order to express the 'vision' of their music. In some cases, mostly in pop music, it is almost impossible to reproduce some of these special sound designs and instruments live. In this case, certain percussion, special instruments, background vocals and other sound-designed pieces can be played back through a computer system that is in sync with the band.
In this way, the computer system acts to enhance the performance of the band and artist to ensure that the song is represented as the artist envisions. |
